If you want to step up your workout routines as a rider, you’ve come to the right place.
Let us tell you a story.
In June 2024 we met a rider who told us he needed help to sit more upright to be able to ride in better balance between jumps.
We asked him to look at his riding from video and tell us if he saw rounded or over arched lower back. It was rounded.
In the same group we had another rider who also struggled with keeping her position upright and she was leaning forward in the light seat. Her lower back was over arched.
If we told these riders just to “sit more upright”, they would struggle to feel real difference in their riding because it would not help them fix the root cause – their hip position.
Rounded back is connected to posteriorly tilted hip and leaning forward in light seat to forward tilted hip.
If we gave them generic, one size fits all workout plan, we’d miss out on targeting the completely opposite root cause they had.
So, we individualized their workout plans based on how they felt in the saddle and they had completely opposite strength movements to reach the same desired outcome: the ability to sit more balanced and upright.
They were not looking for workouts. They were looking for a solution to help them become better as a rider.
All they needed to tell us was how they felt in the saddle and we then chose the workouts for them that resulted them being able to feel that difference in their riding in already 2 weeks.
But the riders we’ve worked with would tell you that *OUR MAGIC*is not just good workouts. It’s explaining the connection between the workout and your riding.
All I ever wanted was to be a rider but that never really turned out to be how I had dreamed
I’ve been riding since I was 5 and saw ponies at the local marketplace and there really was nothing else for me after that moment
all ever wanted was to compete and grow as a rider to one day to ride in those bigger arenas
after my 2 severe knee injuries in my pony / junior age, my sports physio and sports performance coach studies and setting up my first business, in 2020 I had finally found my way back deep into this sport
I bought a promising 3yo mare, willing to put everything I had into this come back
but life had other plans
in April 2022 I completely destroyed my right knee (ACL) and since that I’ve had 3 knee surgeries trying get back to sports
severe injuries have the effect of ripping down different things you have and all you’re left with is you trying to not only figure out your way back from the injury, but what you really want in life
so I had more time to study and I got my mental coach and pilates certifications to deepen my knowledge
I also had more time to truly feel the purpose I found working with different riders through EQUESTRAIN
and I understood this is my way deep into this sport
not as a top level rider, but as a top level coach who has the courage to challenge the way we see ourselves as athletes in this sport, to help those who want more and fill that gap we have in our sport
my heart belongs to ambitious riders who want to put in that dedicated work to become better riders
I can be that someone who in the end of the day knows with every cell in her body how it feels when you’re one with your horse but then also understands the human body, the biomechanics and the mind from the performance perspective
Still riding ☝🏼 but I’ve put my competitive goals on that end on hold for a while to focus on this journey with EQUESTRAIN 🚀 (because let’s face it, I need big goals to feel alive and happiest 😌)
xx
